Mohammad Mehdi Babaei is an accomplished author, lecturer, and researcher focusing on the well-being of musicians. He is also originator the Musemuscle method. With years of experience in teaching percussion instruments and the authorship of the book “Groth Ladder” (a guide to conga and bongo training), Babaei observed a recurring issue of pains and injuries among fellow musicians and music students. This led him to embark on a journey to uncover the origins of these injuries, giving rise to the inception of the Musemuscle Method in 2003.
Through collaborations with Dr. Abbas Ali Rabiei, who holds a PhD in anatomy from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Babaei expanded his horizons by delving into the study of human anatomy and general pathology. This knowledge empowered him to develop exercises and solutions rooted in a profound understanding of the body’s mechanics. Over time, he disseminated the breadth and effectiveness of this methodology through educational videos and published materials aimed at the musician community.
Over the course of two decades of dedicated study and research, he has amassed a portfolio of over 170 meticulously crafted exercises designed for comprehensive body engagement, with a particular emphasis on the upper limbs. These exercises, together with accompanying solutions, recommendations, and techniques, have culminated from his extensive work. Noteworthy among these accomplishments are innovations like musician-specific weights and labels, voice and performance techniques, inverse instrument ,forms, exercise regimens targeting brain hemisphere activation, methodologies for integrating exercises with instruments, synchronization of wrists and fingers, expert guidance for musicians, and strategies for designing and implementing supplementary techniques into the program.
These specialized exercises cater to the unique needs of every musician, effectively addressing 11 vital topics encompassing both fundamental sciences, basic anatomy, general injuries, and the nuances of musicianship. By skillfully combining these facets, he has meticulously crafted and disseminated this wealth of knowledge through three books and three video educational packages. Notably, an additional eight specialized packages are in the final stages of sorting and preparation for imminent recording and publication. Remarkably, all the concepts mentioned above have been pioneered and introduced by him, marking pioneering contributions to the world.
His research endeavors have forged connections between his groundbreaking methodologies and various scientific disciplines, presenting novel opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange. To date, his Musemcell method has garnered recognition and endorsements from newspapers, radio broadcasts, television appearances, public gatherings, festivals, universities, and likeminded researchers in related fields and medicine. An array of the most remarkable endorsements is available within the statistics section of the website, underscoring the method’s extraordinary attributes.
